Effect of Composition on Martensitic Transformation Temperature, Latent Heat, and Crystalline Phase of Cu-Al-Mn Shape Memory Alloys

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering
Cu-Al-Mn alloys are promising materials for industrial applications because of their excellent workability and low transformation stress. In this work, Cu-Al-Mn alloys with compositions in the range of 64.8–78.23 at% Cu, 12.2–31.6 at% Al, and 0–17.87 at%

Lipopolysaccharide uptake is augmented in lipopolysaccharide‐tolerant mouse macrophage‐like cells via increased CD14 expression

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In normal (nontolerant) cells, CD14 is crucial for both LPS uptake and LPS signaling. In LPS‐tolerant cells, in which LPS‐induced TNF‐α and IFN‐β production is suppressed, there is a dramatic increase in surface CD14 expression. The overexpressed CD14 in LPS‐tolerant cells is responsible for the enhanced LPS uptake without inducing pro‐inflammatory ...

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

Natural Products as Geroprotective Modulators in Diabetic Nephropathy: A Mechanistic Framework Integrating Aging Hallmarks and the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 Axis

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Natural products target the aging kidney in diabetic nephropathy by restoring the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 axis, reducing oxidative stress, inflammation, fibrosis, and cellular senescence while enhancing mitochondrial biogenesis and antioxidant defenses.

Evaluation of Artocarpus heterophyllus seed performance and kinetics in the coagulation–flocculation process for the purification of paint industrial wastewater

open access: yesApplied Water Science
The Artocarpus heterophyllus (AH) seed was used as a coagulant in this study to explore the effects of pH, settling time, and coagulant doses on the removal of colour, turbidity, and heavy metals from paint industrial wastewater.

Cutaneous Phosphorylated Alpha‐Synuclein in Lewy Body Dementia

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To determine the test performance of cutaneous phosphorylated alpha‐synuclein (P‐SYN) in dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), individuals with reduced Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) and healthy controls. Methods This is the first subgroup analysis of the Synuclein‐One study, a prospective, blinded study evaluating P‐SYN detection ...

A novel fully human anti-ROR1 antibody PBA-0405 optimized for ADCC, induces potent anti-tumor activity against both solid and hematological malignancies

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
IntroductionB-cell malignancies, including chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), pose a significant clinical challenge due to high relapse rates and dose-limiting toxicities seen with current therapies, particularly in elderly patients.
