Analysis of Band Effects in One‐Dimensional Periodic Lattices Using an Enhanced Homogenization Method

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
An enhanced homogenization method for periodic lattices, applicable to any asymmetrical multipart structures, is proposed. This method simplifies intricate gratings into slab waveguides, predicts guided‐mode resonances and bound states in the continuum, without relying on numerical methods.

Low‐Loss Parowax‐Imprinted Diffractive Neural Network for Orbital Angular Momentum Terahertz Holographic Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
This work introduces a low‐loss diffractive neural network, fabricated using an imprinting technique with parowax material, for recognizing and manipulating the topological charge of orbital angular momentum (OAM) waves. It is also demonstrated that the low‐loss diffractive network can perform mathematical operations based on the topological charges of

Enhancement of the Optoelectric and Photovoltaic Responses of Al/PVP:ZnTiO3/p‐Si Structure by Graphene Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
This study investigates the optoelectronic response of Al/p‐Si photodiodes with and without a (PVP:Gr‐ZnTiO3) interlayer under varying light intensities. Key parameters are analyzed, revealing that the interlayer enhances photosensitivity, optical responsivity, and specific detectivity.

Extraction of Inherent Amplitude Mode from a Light Beam

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
Mode extraction is the inverse process of the double‐beam superposition principle in classical optics. While polarization mode extraction has been successfully demonstrated using an m‐order vector vortex beam, this article demonstrates the amplitude mode extraction of a light beam.

Rigid Macroporous Wood Microparticles Impart Universality and Scalability to Lightweight Foam Insulation

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, EarlyView.
Rigid, lightweight foams for thermal insulation are produced using a universal and scalable method: results are compared between pilot plant trials, four wood residues, pulp, ocean water, and a biosurfactant. Two guidelines for using this method are suggested: use a distribution of rigid wood microparticle sizes and shapes and match the average ...

An Analysis of Elusive Relationships in Floating Zone Growth Using Data Mining Techniques

open access: yesAdvanced Theory and Simulations, EarlyView.
Ultra‐pure silicon single‐crystals can be grown by the Floating Zone (FZ) method. This study investigates intricate relationships between process stability measures and multiple growth parameters by applying data mining techniques on FZ simulations. Regression Trees identified multivariate relationships that help explaining complex interactions between
