The interfacial stability and activity of Ni‐Fe‐based AEMWE anodes can be directly enhanced by operando voltage‐cycling in a FeOOH‐containing electrolyte. This process simultaneously induces Ni oxidation and Fe incorporation, forming an integrated, porous (Fe, Ni)OOH layer with high conductivity and durability.

We used a zinc oxide–carbon composite interlayer (ZnO@C) via the electron‐beam (e‐beam) irradiation method to fabricate a cost‐effective, high‐energy‐density, anode‐free solid‐state battery. Chemical anchoring between the ZnO and carbon enabled uniform nanoscale morphology, mitigating the high surface energy of the ZnO NPs.

The action spectrum of a tailored azobenzene is shifted toward bio‐optical window through the chemical modification of its singlet and triplet energy levels. Consequently, the bidirectional photo‐switching of azobenzene in physiological conditions is achieved when excited by red and far‐red light, which offers greater tissue penetration.

Purge and Mainstream Flow Interaction Control by Means of Platform Circumferential Contouring
This study presents an attempt to reduce the losses produced by the purge flow in a turbine stage by incorporating circumferential platform contouring. Two contours are proposed and compared against a baseline at different levels of swirl.

Reinforcing Oxygen Activation of Spinel Oxide via Mn─O Covalency Engineering for VOCs Oxidation
A MnCo spinel catalyst with weakened Mn─O covalency was synthesized via a hard‐template method. The reduced Mn─O covalency facilitates localized electron redistribution, promoting the activation of both molecular oxygen and lattice oxygen, and thereby enabling the efficient and complete oxidation of VOCs (ethyl acetate, toluene, and propane).

Groundwater sampling, purge or no purge that is the question
International audienceThere are uncertainties about to what extend the water in the well is representative of the water in the aquifer. So usually, for groundwater sampling a purging step is considered.

Adhesion‐Driven Removal of Microplastics From Aquatic Systems by Using Microgel Glues
Soft polymeric microgels function as “glues” that aggregate diverse microplastics through multivalent adhesion, promoting their interfacial deposition and co‐precipitation for efficient removal from water. Remarkably, this approach remains effective even for nanoscale plastic particles as small as 50 nm.

Experimental Study of Main Gas Ingestion and Purge Gas Egress Flow in Model Gas Turbine Stages [PDF]
: Efficient performance of gas turbines depends, among several parameters, on the mainstream gas entry temperature. At the same time, transport of this high temperature gas into the rotor-stator cavities of turbine stages affects the durability of rotor ...
