CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Cloning, expression, purification and drug targeting of Plasmodium falciparum hypoxanthine guanine xanthine phosphoribosyltransferase (HGXPRT)

open access: yes, 2005
Includes bibliographical references. The research concerns sub-cloning the gene for HGXPRT from Plasmodium falciparum from a vector with a His-tag facility to one without, expression of the protein in E. coli, and purification.

Expression and purification of an adenylation domain from a eukaryotic nonribosomal peptide synthetase: Using structural genomics tools for a challenging target

open access: yes, 2010
Nonribosomal peptide synthetases (NRPSs) are large multimodular and multidomain enzymes that are involved in synthesising an array of molecules that are important in human and animal health.

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Clinical outcomes and predictive factors of stent grafts treatment for symptomatic central venous obstruction in end stage kidney disease patients with arteriovenous access

open access: yesScientific Reports
To assess the efficacy of stent grafts (SGs) in managing central venous obstruction disease (CVOD) in hemodialysis (HD) patients with arteriovenous (AV) access, and to identify predictive factors influencing the SG treatment outcomes.

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Cysteine proteinase inhibitors: purification and gene isolation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
Genetic engineering has produced a transgenic insect- resistant plant which produces a serine protease inhibitor (Hilder et al., 1987). More insects can be targetted if a plant can be made to produce thiol protease inhibitors.

Predicting anemia management in dialysis patients using open-source machine learning libraries

open access: yesRenal Replacement Therapy
Background Managing anemia in patients with end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) undergoing hemodialysis (HD) is a major clinical challenge. It requires precise hemoglobin (Hb) control while minimizing erythropoiesis-stimulating agent (ESA) dosages to reduce ...
