Functional Foods Alleviate Behavioral Alterations and Improve GABAergic System Regulating TLR‐4/NF‐κB Axis in Valproic‐Induced Autism

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 15, Issue 6, June 2025.
Dietary supplementation with Coriolus versicolor ameliorate neuroinflammation VPA‐induced. ABSTRACT Scope Valproic acid (VPA) postnatal exposure in mice results in behavioral impairment, aberrant sensitivity to sensory stimuli, and self‐harming behavior, hallmarks of autism.

Electrospun Nanofiber Platforms for Photodynamic Therapy: Role and Efficacy in Cancer, Antimicrobial, and Wound Healing Applications

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, Volume 310, Issue 5, May 2025.
Electrospun nanofibers provide a unique platform for photosensitizers, due to their large surface area and biocompatibility, improving both loading efficiency and controlled release. The photosensitizer‐modified nanofibers are activated upon light exposure, and produce reactive oxygen species to treat cancer, pathogen infections, and wounds.

Antibody‐Nanoparticle Conjugates in Therapy: Combining the Best of Two Worlds

open access: yesSmall, Volume 21, Issue 15, April 16, 2025.
Antibody‐nanomaterial conjugates (ANCs) are an emerging therapeutic class combining the precise targeting specificity of antibodies with the versatility and functionality of nanomaterials. This review summarizes ANC design, synthesis, and potential therapeutic applications in this rapidly advancing field.

Photothermal Therapy: From Encouraging Lab Results to Lackluster Clinical Translation

open access: yesAdvanced Therapeutics, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2025.
Photothermal therapy (PTT) holds promise for non‐invasive cancer treatment by inducing localized tumor cell death. However, despite extensive laboratory progress and the selective potential of agents like gold nanoshells, clinical translation lags.

Spondylosis in Horses: Clinical Features, Diagnostic Imaging Findings, Treatment and Outcome in 13 Horses

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 2, March 2025.
The aim of this study is to describe for the first time clinical signs, treatment and long‐term outcomes of horses diagnosed with thoracic spondylosis. Of the 13 horses that met the inclusion criteria, four were able to continue their athletic careers with good results, after treatment and rehabilitation. ABSTRACT Background Back pain is a debilitating

Damsels in Disguise: Development of Ultraviolet Sensitivity and Colour Patterns in Damselfishes (Pomacentridae)

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, Volume 34, Issue 6, March 2025.
ABSTRACT Damselfishes (Pomacentridae) are widespread and highly abundant on tropical coral reefs. They exhibit diverse body colouration within and between the ~250 species and across ontogenetic stages. In addition to human‐visible colours (i.e., 400–700 nm), most adult damselfishes reflect ultraviolet (UV, 300–400 nm) colour patches.
