Navigating the Invisible Load: Taboos in the Experiences of Female CALD Doctoral Students Balancing Family and Study in Australia

open access: yesHigher Education Quarterly, Volume 80, Issue 3, July 2026.
ABSTRACT This study explores unspoken challenges faced by female doctoral students from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds in Australia. Drawing on in‐depth interviews with seven CALD women at two Australian universities and guided by Butler's gender performativity, Crenshaw's intersectionality, and postcolonial feminism, we ...

The Meaning of Surveillance in Women With a Hereditary Risk of Breast Cancer: A Hermeneutic Phenomenological Study

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Nursing, Volume 35, Issue 7, Page 3167-3178, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim To explore the meaning of lived experiences of women with a hereditary risk of breast cancer who participate in surveillance of their breasts with magnetic resonance imaging. Design Hermeneutic phenomenology. Methods Interviews on two occasions were made with 14 women in the surveillance programme.

Multi‐Country‐Multi‐City Characterisation of Heat Stress and Exposure in Africa

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, Volume 46, Issue 8, 30 June 2026.
This study provides the first continent‐wide, grid‐specific assessment of heat stress trends in Africa, revealing a sharp rise in multi‐scale extreme heat episodes and shifting population exposure. Findings highlight urgent implications for urban planning and climate adaptation.

Hyperspectral Fingerprinting of Dune Sediments Across the Arabian Peninsula: Insights Into Sediment Provenance and Transport Pathways From NASA's EMIT Data

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 12, 28 June 2026.
Abstract The Arabian Peninsula encompasses one of the world's most extensive aeolian systems, yet the provenance and transport history of its dune sediments are not well understood. Using hyperspectral data from NASA's Earth Surface Mineral Dust Source Investigation (EMIT), we mapped mineral compositions and abundance patterns across dune fields and ...

High‐Resolution Climate Simulations Over the Eastern Mediterranean Black Sea Region Using the Pseudo‐Global Warming Method With a CMIP6 Ensemble: Wind Energy Resource Availability

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 12, 28 June 2026.
Abstract Weather‐dependent renewable energy resources are already vulnerable to climate change. High‐resolution regional climate simulations are essential for accurately assessing how climate change may impact wind energy resources, particularly in regions with complex topography.

Pattern Recognition of West African Monsoon Extreme Rainfall Events Using Convolutional Neural Networks

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 12, 28 June 2026.
Abstract Accurate prediction of extreme rainfall and dry events remains a major challenge in West Africa due to the complex and non‐linear dynamics of the monsoon system, which involve interactions among local convection, large‐scale circulation, ocean‐atmosphere coupling, and intra‐seasonal variations.
