Generalized Pustular Psoriasis

Pustular forms of psoriasis are divided into the localized form (Barber) or the generalized form (von Zumbusch). 1 Most of the recent attention given this subject stresses the differentiation of these entities from impetigo herpetiformis, acrodermatitis continua of Hallopeau, and subcorneal pustular dermatosis of Sneddon and Wilkinson.

Intertriginous pustular psoriasis

We describe 6 patients who presented during infancy with erythematous papules or pustules localized to the neck and sometimes other intertriginous areas as well. Most of these infants were initially thought to have dermatitis or a bacterial or candidal infection. A biopsy specimen established the diagnosis of pustular psoriasis in 5 of the 6 cases.

To the Editor.— In a recent article entitled "Generalized Pustular Psoriasis" ( Arch Dermatol 105:711-716, 1972), Landry and Muller describe patients with generalized pustular psoriasis. Patient 1 was a 28-year-old man who had had rheumatic fever treated with penicillin.
