Variation of stomach content and isotopic niche of puye Galaxias maculatus (Jenyns, 1842) in large river systems of southern Chile

Freshwater Biology, 2021
Abstract Understanding of trophic structure and flow of energy within river systems is essential for informed management of these ecosystems and conservation of native fish fauna and fisheries resources. Food resources used by riverine fish depend on productivity within the main stem and adjacent floodplains, terrestrial inputs, and longitudinal and ...

Invasive salmonids and lake order interact in the decline of puye grande Galaxias platei in western Patagonia lakes

Ecological Applications, 2012
Salmonid fishes, native to the northern hemisphere, have become naturalized in many austral countries and appear linked to the decline of native fishes, particularly galaxiids. However, a lack of baseline information and the potential for confounding anthropogenic stressors have led to uncertainty regarding the association between salmonid invasions ...

Morphology and Ultrastructure of Puye (Galaxias maculatus) Spermatozoa

Acta Zoologica
ABSTRACTThis study characterises basic seminal and sperm parameters of puye (Galaxias maculatus maculatus), including sperm concentration, seminal plasma osmolality and cell viability. In addition, it provides a detailed description of sperm ultrastructure. Wild males (n = 21) were captured in southern Chile.

Volcanogenic Alluvial Fan Sedimentation, Puye Formation, New Mexico: ABSTRACT

AAPG Bulletin, 1984
The Pliocene Puye Formation of north-central New Mexico represents a rift-filling volcaniclastic alluvial fan sequence developed on the east flank of the Jemez Mountain volcanic pile. This coarse-grained sequence can be separated into two compositionally distinct members that are genetically unrelated.
