ASCA Observations of the Supernova Remnant IC 443: Thermal Structure and Detection of Overionized Plasma [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We present the results of X-ray spatial and spectral studies of the ``mixed-morphology'' supernova remnant IC 443 using ASCA. IC 443 has a center-filled image in X-ray band, contrasting with the shell-like appearance in radio and optical bands.

Eco‐Efficient Processing and Refining Routes for Secondary Raw Materials from Silicon Ingot and Wafer Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
The ICARUS project developed pilot‐scale processes to recover and refine secondary raw materials from silicon photovoltaic (PV) ingot and wafer manufacturing waste. Silicon kerf, graphite, and silica residues are purified into high‐value inputs for the PV value chain and beyond.

Circular Economy Pathways for Airport Climate Change Mitigation

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Airport operators face growing climate‐change pressures; the circular economy offers pathways to reduce impacts and recover resources. We examine how airport operators apply the circular economy in practice. We use an exploratory qualitative multicase design based on practitioner‐generated documents (e.g., press releases and sustainability ...
