Design and Performance of Solar PV Integrated Domestic Vapor Absorption Refrigeration System

open access: yesInternational Journal of Photoenergy, 2021
The arrival of new technologies has increased the energy demand day by day and does not seem to slow down at any time soon. High energy demand is adding risk on energy depletion and cause of various environmental issues. Air conditioner, chiller, and refrigerator occupy a considerable amount of the world’s total energy usage and have also proved to be ...

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

Cancer cell‐intrinsic type 1 interferon: production, signaling, and outcomes within sex‐biased, female malignancies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The cell‐autonomous roles of interferon type 1 vary based on duration and intensity. While acute, robust signaling results in cancer cell cytotoxic effects, sustained, low‐level signaling is associated with tumor‐promoting effects. This review summarizes current research of IFN‐1 in cancer and within the clinical setting, with an emphasis on female ...
