Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Coordinated active and reactive power control for overvoltage mitigation in physical LV microgrids

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
The share of photovoltaic (PV) systems in the distribution networks is rapidly growing, leading to the common issue of overvoltage at the end of distribution feeders during the periods when peak generation is surplus to consumption.

Advancements in hybrid photovoltaic-thermal systems: performance evaluations and applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Due to European Directives (2010/31/UE on buildings energy performance, 2009/28/CE on the use of renewable energy, 2012/27/UE on the energy efficiency) the electric and thermal energy needs of new and retrofitted buildings are faced by increasing ...

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Numerical and experimental evaluation of nanofluids based photovoltaic/thermal systems in Oman: Using silicone-carbide nanoparticles with water-ethylene glycol mixture

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering, 2021
Photovoltaic/thermal (PV/T) systems used to produce electricity and heat concurrently. The production and efficiencies of these systems were specified by the materials, design, and weather data of the location. In this study, a 100-Watt Web-configuration

The PV System Doctor – Comprehensive diagnosis of PV system installations

open access: yesEnergy Procedia, 2017
Abstract Due to an increased adoption of photovoltaic (PV) systems globally, degradation and failure of PV installations in the field that lead to under-performing systems and eventually to lower financial returns have begun to attract more attention.
