Coordination between the central control unit and local control function of a photovoltaic system under the uncertainties of sunlight and three‐phase unbalanced loads

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, 2021
At present, high penetration of photovoltaic (PV) systems on low voltage (LV) distribution systems is increasing worldwide because of several favourable conditions, such as government policies, decreasing cost of PV technologies, and environmental ...

Statistical modeling, parameter estimation and measurement planning for PV degradation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Photovoltaics (PV) degradation is a key consideration during PV performance evaluation. Accurately predicting power delivery over the course of lifetime of PV is vital to manufacturers and system owners.

Meningovascular Inflammation in Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy‐Related Cortical Superficial Siderosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The role of inflammation in cortical superficial siderosis (cSS), a marker of cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) linked to high hemorrhage risk, is unclear. We examined 15 patients with cSS using 3 T post‐contrast vessel wall MRI (VWI) and CSF analysis.

Case study 2. Model validation using existing data from PV generation on selected New Zealand schools [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Solar energy is abundant, free and non-polluting. Solar energy can offset the consumption of fossil fuels, greenhouse gas emission reduction targets and contribute to meeting the fast-growing energy demands.

Associations of Sleep and Shift Work with Osteoarthritis Risk

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective Daily rhythms may be critical for maintaining homeostasis of joint tissues. We aimed to investigate the relationships between circadian clock disruption, sleep, and osteoarthritis (OA) risk in humans. Methods In the UK Biobank, a prospective 500,000‐person cohort, we evaluated associations between sleep duration, sleeplessness/insomnia, and ...

Decoding pixels: A modular software prototype for cognitive image-based diagnostics of PV plants

open access: yesEPJ Photovoltaics
Although aerial infrared (aIRT) imagery-based solutions for diagnostics of PV plants demonstrate impressive time-efficiency and spatial resolution, they also suffer from considerable drawbacks: limited automation (hence, expert dependence) and ...

Differential Item Functioning on the Patient Health Questionnaire‐8 by Disease Subtype, Language, Sex, and Age among People with Systemic Sclerosis: A Scleroderma Patient‐centered Intervention Network Cohort Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective Somatic items used in depression assessments can potentially overlap with symptoms related to physical illness, including systemic sclerosis (SSc). No studies have looked at whether somatic depression items may be influenced by diffuse versus limited SSc disease subtypes, which are associated with varying degrees of symptom presentation.

Rational Fine‐Tuning of MOF Pore Metrics: Enhanced SO2 Capture and Sensing with Optimal Multi‐Site Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A pore tuning strategy to amplify the multi‐site MOF‐SO2 interactions is proposed to achieve an enhanced trace SO2 capture and chemiresistive sensing in highly stable isostructural DMOFs by annelating benzene rings. This work provides a facile strategy to achieve tailor‐made stable MOF materials for specific multifunctional applications.
