Biodegradable HPMC–chitosan film for moisture retention and quality preservation in fresh‐cut mango

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract BACKGROUND Replacing conventional plastics with biodegradable solutions that control moisture loss in fresh‐cut produce is a strategic need. This study developed hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC) and chitosan (CS) films plasticised with glycerol (Gly) and evaluated their use as sealing lids for fresh‐cut mango. RESULTS The selected monolayer

Exploiting Scattering‐Based Point Spread Functions for Snapshot 5D and Modality‐Switchable Lensless Imaging

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This paper demonstrates a snapshot 5D and modality‐switchable lensless camera (Diffuser‐mCam), which can encode 2D intensity, multi‐spectral, polarization, and time information into a monochromatic raw data, and subsequently decode it using the compressed sensing algorithm at the sampling rate of 2.5% per channel.

Polydopamine‐Antibiotic Composite Coating for Antibiofilm Applications

open access: yesMacromolecular Bioscience, EarlyView.
Antibiotic‐loaded polydopamine coatings are developed to combat biofilm‐forming bacteria on catheter surfaces. These coatings strongly inhibit Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilm formation on diverse materials, including during continuous artificial‐urine flow, and can accommodate multiple antibiotics.

Evaluation of Voids on Shrink PVC Film

open access: yesActa graphica : znanstveni časopis za tiskarstvo i grafičke komunikacije, 2012
Gravure is one of the most widely used processes for printing on shrink films, the reason being its consistency for longer runs. However, such printing is accompanied by new challenges. The presence of gels, black specks and other contaminations in these films does not allow the surrounding area to print, thus resulting in print void. The occurrence of

Physico‐Chemical Understanding of Plasticizers Interaction with P(VDF‐TrFE‐CFE) Electroactive Polymer

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study explores the effects of DNOP plasticizer on P(VDF‐TrFE‐CFE) terpolymers, revealing a strong synergy between chemical structure and physical properties. High TrFE bringing natural flexibility and CFE enhancing the plasticizer retention through theorized halogen bonds, ultra‐soft, crack‐free films of high permittivity and softness are ...

Study of Solvent Effect on PVDF‐HFP Gel Polymer Electrolyte Containing Ionic Liquid Pyr1,4TFSI for Lithium Batteries Application

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
The study develops gel polymer electrolytes using PVDF‐HFP copolymer, lithium salt, and an ionic liquid, evaluates how different solvents affect crystallinity, thermal stability, microstructure, and conductivity, observes a crystallinity decrease from 31% to 11%, identifies solvent‐dependent membrane morphologies, and reports the highest conductivity ...

Generating Tagged Micro‐ and Nanoparticles of Poly(ethylene furanoate) and Poly(ethylene terephthalate) as Reference Materials

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
We successfully developed poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) and poly(ethylene furanoate) (PEF) nanoparticles and microparticles, covalently tagged with Alexa Fluor 633 or Alexa Fluor 647, using both mechanical and solvent‐based approaches. The particles displaying hydrodynamic diameters between 200 and 700 nm, exhibited long‐term colloidal stability ...
