Chemical Degradation of Rigid PVC FilmThe chemical degradation of rigid PVC film in nitric acid solution has been studied in the range of 30 to 80℃ from intrinsic viscosity measurements. It was found that degree of polymerization of PVC decreased remarkably as a result of oxydation and that at 60℃ and above a part of degraded polymer dissolved in nitric acid solution.
