Comparative Fatigue Analysis of Structural Steels Considering Welding and Surface Effects
ABSTRACT There are limited data on the very high‐cycle fatigue for structural steel welds for over 10 million cycles. The purpose of this research is a fatigue performance comparison of the welds made of steels S355JR+AR and S275JR+AR. The goal of reaching the gigacycle fatigue domain is achieved using the ultrasonic fatigue testing at 20 kHz.

Effects of PWHT on the Hardness and Fractured Microstructure of IS-103Cr1 Welded Joint
During the welding process change of chemical and physical reactions due to the flow of heat in the weldments are varied with respect to rate of cooling time and weld axis. In the dissimilar welded joints, at the welded portion it can be exist in more than one crystalline form and the carbon atom is only 1/30th size of the iron atom.

Tuning residual stresses in welded structures by exploiting bio‐inspired suture interfaces
Abstract Nature offers a valuable source of inspiration when designing optimized structures. For instance, when two or more shells are joined during growth processes, Nature prefers to exploit interlocking paradigms to enhance the strength of the bond—cranial sutures are one example.

Microstructural Changes, Tensile, and Hardness Behaviour of Welded Ti‐6Al‐4V Plates
In this work, Ti‐6Al‐4V alloy was joined by tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding and the plates were undergone through optical microscopy test, elemental study, tensile test, hardness test, and fractographic observation. Plate‐A, with low value of current input, possesses α + β bimodal structure at BM, acicular martensite at HAZ, and Widmanstätten ...
