Optimal control of three level PWM inverters

Proceedings of IECON '93 - 19th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics, 1997
An harmonic loss-minimized optimal PWM strategy for three-level inverters is investigated. The different PWM methods for low-, middle-, and high-speed regions are presented. It is shown that, for three-level inverters, the optimized strategy in all speed regions differs from the optimal PWM strategy of two-level inverters. The developed optimal control

Neural ASIC controller for PWM power systems

Proceedings Eleventh Annual IEEE International ASIC Conference (Cat. No.98TH8372), 2002
This paper describes an ASIC approach of a predictive current controller for VLSI-PWM inverters used in power systems. The new structure is based on FPGA implementation of neural networks providing high performance and compact hardware structure. The operation principles, architecture, design and implementation strategy are presented alongside with ...

PWM Control Techniques for Rectifier Filter Minimization

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 1984
Minimization of input/output filters is an essential step towards manufacturing compact low-cost static power supplies. Three PWM control techniques that yield substantial filter size reduction for three-phase (self-commutated) rectifiers are presented and analyzed.

Non linear control of PWM rectifier by state feedback linearization and exact PWM control

Proceedings of 1994 Power Electronics Specialist Conference - PESC'94, 2002
This paper describes two nonlinear studies concerning a PWM rectifier. A nonlinear control scheme using state feedback linearization is presented, followed by an exact compensation method for the nonlinear switching effects of PWM. The two control laws developed in this paper show higher performance than traditional cascade control methods. >

TRAINING OF NEURAL NETWORK BASED PWM CONTROLLERS

Advances and Applications in Discrete Mathematics, 2018
Summary: One can see the growing interest in the use of pulse elements formed on the basis of artificial neural networks (ANNs), in particular, to systems with pulse-width modulation (PWM), in the synthesis of automatic control systems (ACSs). This raises the problem of parametric optimization of synaptic weights of the neural network with respect to ...

PWM Control Strategies for Wind Turbine Inverters

Wind Engineering, 2001
This paper reviews the principles of three PWM control strategies, namely Harmonic Elimination, Current Hysteresis and Space Vector, which are used in the development of a 100kVA IGBT wind turbine inverter. Based on the simulations and the field test results, the comparison and selection issues of these PWM control strategies are investigated and ...

Analog PWM and Digital PWM Controller IC for DC/DC Converters

2009 Fourth International Conference on Innovative Computing, Information and Control (ICICIC), 2009
In this paper, the chip designs of analog pulsewidth modulation (PWM) and digital PWM are developed and implemented for switching power converters. This research employed analog and digital PWM technology to design the DC/DC converter control system. The advantages and disadvantages between these two architectures are treated in this paper.

Control of bifurcation of PWM controlled DC drives

2012 IEEE International Conference on Power Electronics, Drives and Energy Systems (PEDES), 2012
This paper describes bifurcation phenomena of a PWM controlled dc shunt drive. Bifurcation behavior of the system is observed by varying system parameters. The route of transition from periodic behavior to chaos has been investigated. The stability of the system is found out using the state transition matrix over one switching cycle (the monodromy ...

VSS-type self tuning PWM control

2006 American Control Conference, 2006
In this paper, a new model for pulsewidth modulation (PWM) control systems is proposed and a PWM controller based on the model is designed by using the VSS-type self tuning control method. The duration of pulse signal of the PWM control input in each sampling period is considered as a new control input of the model.
