PWM Control Techniques for Rectifier Filter Minimization
IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 1984Minimization of input/output filters is an essential step towards manufacturing compact low-cost static power supplies. Three PWM control techniques that yield substantial filter size reduction for three-phase (self-commutated) rectifiers are presented and analyzed.

Minimum-loss PWM strategy for 3-phase PWM rectifier
PESC97. Record 28th Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference. Formerly Power Conditioning Specialists Conference 1970-71. Power Processing and Electronic Specialists Conference 1972, 1997In this paper, the conduction and switching losses of a three-phase PWM rectifier are analyzed for various PWM schemes. On the basis of these results, a novel PWM strategy which minimizes the loss of a voltage-fed three-phase PWM rectifier is developed. This minimization results from the following two factors: (a) low switching frequency ratio; and (b)

Sensorless control strategies for PWM rectifier
APEC 2000. Fifteenth Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (Cat. No.00CH37058), 2002In this paper two different control strategies for a PWM rectifier without line voltage sensors are compared. The direct power control (DPC) which has no need for line voltage measurements is compared to the conventional voltage oriented control (VOC) strategy in rotating coordinates with a novel line voltage estimator.

New PWM method for single-phase three-level PWM rectifiers
ISIE '97 Proceeding of the IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2002This paper presents a simple switching method to generate a PWM pattern mostly relevant to single-phase three-level PWM rectifiers. The adopted PWM switching pattern is performed in a manner similar to the space vector PWM method, which is popularly used in three-phase rectifiers and inverters. A set of possible voltages is selected so that an equation

Single-phase five-level PWM rectifier
2009 International Conference for Technical Postgraduates (TECHPOS), 2009A single-phase five level pulse width modulation (PWM) rectifier is proposed. The control scheme is using the sinusoidal PWM technique to improve the power factor and to achieve a lower total harmonic distortion (THD) for the proposed rectifier. The control method is also aimed to obtain a nearly sinusoidal line current.

A ZCS-PWM interleaved boost rectifier
2014 9th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications, 2014This paper analyses and designs a ZCS-PWM single-phase high power factor interleaved boost rectifier. The proposed rectifier combines the conventional pulse-width-modulation technique and soft commutation technique to promote the circuit performance.

Diode and thyristor-based rectifier circuits have been widely used in the industry. Due to non-linear structures of these circuits, they draw non-sinusoidal current from AC network as well as cause a low power factor in the AC side.
