Single-phase five-level PWM rectifier

2009 International Conference for Technical Postgraduates (TECHPOS), 2009
A single-phase five level pulse width modulation (PWM) rectifier is proposed. The control scheme is using the sinusoidal PWM technique to improve the power factor and to achieve a lower total harmonic distortion (THD) for the proposed rectifier. The control method is also aimed to obtain a nearly sinusoidal line current.

Study on PWM Rectifier Without Grid Voltage Sensor Based on Virtual Flux Delay Compensation Algorithm

IEEE transactions on power electronics, 2019
At present, virtual flux voltage oriented control strategy is one of the widely used control strategies without grid voltage sensor. To solve the dc bias resulting from voltage vector integration in vector calculation of virtual flux and further avoid ...

Five-phase PWM current source rectifier

2013 7th IEEE GCC Conference and Exhibition (GCC), 2013
This paper introduces multiphase PWM current source rectifier (CSR). This rectifier is suitable for wind energy or micro turbine applications which have multiphase generators with no need for electric gear such as low frequency transformer. As a case study, medium voltage (MV) five-phase PWM current source rectifier (CSR) with controlled dc-link ...

A Stationary-Frame Current Vector Control Strategy for Single-Phase PWM Rectifier

IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2019
Traditional current control methods for a single-phase rectifier in an electric traction drive system suffer from either long response time or nonzero steady-state error.

Optimum digital control of PWM rectifiers

Proceedings of IECON'94 - 20th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics, 2002
The paper presents an optimum digital control technique suitable for three-phase PWM rectifiers with a capacitive filter in the DC link. The proposed technique is based on a predictive current control loop, which does not need line voltage sensing and results in minimum RMS current absorption and unity power factor in any operating condition. Moreover,

Ultra Compact Three-phase PWM Rectifier

APEC 07 - Twenty-Second Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition, 2007
An increasing number of telecom, data server and aircraft power supply applications require high power, highly efficient, compact, sinusoidal input current rectifiers. The design and experimental performance of an 8.5 kW/liter (139 W/in3), 3-phase PWM rectifier with a power output of 10 kW is presented.

A Robust Control Strategy for Three Phase Voltage t Source PWM Rectifier Connected to a PMSG Wind Energy Conversion System

International Conference on Electrical Sciences and Technologies in Maghreb, 2018
Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) has been widely used in variable-speed Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS). Fuzzy logic control (FLC) of the generator side converter (rectifier) has the ability to have a good regulation of the DC link ...

Single-phase three-level PWM rectifier

Proceedings of the IEEE 1999 International Conference on Power Electronics and Drive Systems. PEDS'99 (Cat. No.99TH8475), 1999
This paper presents a new PWM control scheme for a single-phase three-level PWM rectifier to improve the power quality. A diode bridge with two power switches is adopted as a PFC circuit to achieve a high power factor and low harmonic distortion. The control scheme is based on a look-up table with hysteresis current controller (HCC).

Input filter design for PWM current-source rectifiers

Proceedings Eighth Annual Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition,, 1994
Pulse-width modulated (PWM) rectifiers are increasingly used because they allow the elimination of low-order harmonics, and therefore a reduction in input filter components. Filtering requirements for PWM current-source rectifiers are usually satisfied through the use of low-pass LC input filters.
