Robotic pyeloplasty

Current Urology Reports, 2003
In addition to the classic open surgery, a variety of minimally invasive therapeutic options have been developed for the treatment of ureteropelvic junction obstruction, including an endoscopic antegrade or retrograde ureteropelvic junction obstruction visually controlled incision or radioscopically controlled Acucise (Applied Medical, Laguna Hills, CA)

Splinting in pyeloplasty

Urology, 1976
Over a ten-year period, 129 patients with idiopathic pelviureteric obstruction were randomly selected for splinted or unsplinted pyeloplasties. Of these groups, the patients with splinted pyeloplasties had a lower incidence of postoperative complications. The long-term results were similar in both groups.

Outpatient laparoscopic pyeloplasty

Urology, 2005
To assess the feasibility of ambulatory laparoscopic pyeloplasty. Laparoscopic pyeloplasty aims to reproduce the excellent functional outcomes of open pyeloplasty while diminishing procedural morbidity.Six patients fulfilled specific inclusion criteria for outpatient laparoscopic pyeloplasty: informed consent, body mass index of 40 kg/m2 or less ...

Laparoscopic Pyeloplasty: A Versatile Alternative to Open Pyeloplasty

Urologia Internationalis, 2009
Objective: To report the safety, efficacy and versatility of laparoscopic pyeloplasty (LPP) in treatment of pelviureteric junction obstruction (PUJO). Patients and Methods: From January 2002 to November 2006, 185 patients (186 units; 182 with primary and 4 with secondary PUJO) underwent LPP (transperitoneal ...

Laparoscopic Pyeloplasty Compared with Open Pyeloplasty in Children

Journal of Endourology, 2007
Open dismembered pyeloplasty by a retroperitoneal approach remains the reference standard for correcting ureteropelvic junction (UPJ) obstruction in children. We prospectively compared the results of laparoscopic and open pyeloplasty in children with UPJ obstruction.During the period April 2003 to March 2005, 15 children underwent laparoscopic ...

Unsplinted, unstinted, pyeloplasty

Urology, 1973
Abstract The dismembered pyeloplasty, free of tubes and with a watertight closure, has been used in 32 children. Early clearing of infection and the results shown on improved urographic studies have led us to apply this technique to almost all patients with obstruction who require ureteropelvic repair.

Pyeloplasty in infancy

The Indian Journal of Pediatrics, 2003
The advent of routine maternal ultrasound has increased the number of neonates diagnosed to have ureteropelvic junction obstruction. Though the debate concerning its ideal management continues, recent years have witnessed reports on pyeloplasty in infancy.

Laparoscopic Dismembered Pyeloplasty

Journal of Urology, 1993
As laparoscopic nephrectomy has become a viable ablative procedure for kidney removal, additional areas of reconstructive laparoscopic urological procedures are being investigated. We describe our early experience with laparoscopic pyeloplasty for the management of ureteropelvic junction obstruction. Technical highlights include initial placement of an

Transmesenteric Laparoscopic Pyeloplasty

Journal of Urology, 2006
Traditionally transperitoneal laparoscopic access to ureteropelvic junction obstruction has been performed in retrocolic fashion. We assessed transmesenteric laparoscopic pyeloplasty to correct ureteropelvic junction obstruction and compared results to those in patients undergoing traditional retrocolic laparoscopic pyeloplasty.Between August 1999 and ...

Robotic Computer-Assisted Pyeloplasty versus Conventional Laparoscopic Pyeloplasty

Journal of Endourology, 2006
Laparoscopic pyeloplasty (LP) for the repair of ureteropelvic junction (UPJ) obstruction provides results similar to those of open pyeloplasty with less morbidity, but its use has been limited, as it requires advanced laparoscopic skills. Robotic computer-assisted pyeloplasty (RAP) has the potential to reduce the technical challenges of the ...
