Function of the pylorus and pyloric antrum in gastric emptying [PDF]

open access: bronzeGut, 1963
The function of the pylorus and the pyloric antrum in the control of gastric emptying has been studied in an isolated rat stomach-duodenum preparation. Pressures in the body and pyloric antrum and flow through the duodenum were recorded using electronic transducers. Vigorous peristalsis and episodic flow were induced by electrical stimulation.

Severe Corrosive Gastritis Caused by Accidental Ingestion of Mildly Alkaline Calcium Chloride Desiccant: A Case Report. [PDF]

open access: yesDEN Open
ABSTRACT A woman in her 90s with dementia accidentally ingested an unknown amount of calcium chloride–containing desiccant (pH 7–8). Redefining the Treatment Landscape in Gastroparesis: A Clinical Review of Gastric Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy Outcomes and Therapeutic Integration. [PDF]

open access: yesDEN Open
ABSTRACT Gastroparesis is a chronic gastric motility disorder marked by delayed gastric emptying in the absence of mechanical obstruction. For patients with symptoms refractory to medical and dietary therapy, Gastric Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy (G‐POEM) has emerged as a minimally invasive, pylorus‐targeted intervention that directly addresses pyloric ...

The Influence of Gastric Antral Ulcerations on the Expression of Galanin and GalR1, GalR2, GalR3 Receptors in the Pylorus with Regard to Gastric Intrinsic Innervation of the Pyloric Sphincter. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Gastric antrum ulcerations are common disorders occurring in humans and animals. Such localization of ulcers disturbs the gastric emptying process, which is precisely controlled by the pylorus.

Extremely well-differentiated gastric adenocarcinoma arising in gastric adenomyoma

open access: yesHuman Pathology Reports, 2021
