Immunofluorescent localization of the gastrin-secreting G cells in the pyloric antrum of the pig

Histochemie, 1970
An indirect immunofluorescence technique, using anti-human gastrin serum, was applied to formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded material from antral tissues of porcine stomach. After photographing the result, post-fixation in formalin was followed by the Grimelius silver technique.

Coinfection of Sarcina ventriculi and Candida in a patient of gastric outlet obstruction: An overloaded pyloric antrum

Diagnostic Cytopathology, 2018
Sarcina ventriculi is a rare gram‐positive, anaerobic bacteria, associated with delayed gastric emptying. We report a case of a 45‐year‐old lady, who presented with features of gastric outlet obstruction, and coinfection of S.

Acute Multiple Gastric Ulcers in the Pyloric Antrum

Endoscopy, 1977
Acute prepyloric hemorrhagic erosions occasionally progress to symmetrical ulcers. Cytomegalic inclusion bodies were frequently seen, a history of alimentary allergens, excessive alcohol intake or coffee drinking was common. Hyperchlorhydria which decreased spontaneously was found in 89% during the acute attack.

Gall-stone in the Pyloric Antrum

The British Journal of Radiology, 1962
A gall-stone is not generally considered in the differentiation of filling defects within the gastric lumen. However, a search of the English literature shows that the presence of gall-stones in the stomach is not unknown. It is interesting to note that some of the older clinical texts advised careful examination of both faeces and vomitus for gall ...

Ontogenesis of gastrin cells in the pyloric antrum and duodenum of the mouse

Cell and Tissue Research, 1985
Ontogenesis of gastrin cells was studied in the pyloroduodenal mucosa of the mouse using anti-human G17 serum, R-1301, and anti-human G34(1-15) serum, R-2703. R-1301-immunostained cells first appeared in the pyloric mucosa of 14-day-old fetuses. Cells stained with both R-1301 and R-2703 appeared immediately after birth, and gradually increased in ...

EFFECT OF DENERVATION OF PYLORIC ANTRUM ON THE GASTRIC SECRETORY RESPONSE TO FOOD

Australian Journal of Experimental Biology and Medical Science, 1975
SummaryThe effect of selective denervation of the pyloric antrum on secretory response to three types of food was determined in 3 dogs with innervated and 4 with denervated stomach pouches. With the antrum in situ this procedure has surprisingly little effect on the total meal responses in innervated pouches, on the variation in response induced by ...
