Infantile Hypertrophic Pyloric Stenosis

Infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis (IHPS) is a common surgical condition encountered in early infancy, occurring in 2–3 per 1,000 live births. It is characterized by hypertrophy of the circular muscle, causing pyloric narrowing and elongation and producing partial or complete luminal occlusion.

Unusual Presentation of Infantile Hypertrophic Pyloric Stenosis in a Ten-week old Infant

We report a case of infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis in a ten-week old, third-born girl. She presented with sudden onset of non-projectile vomiting of non-bilious material. The vomiting occurred consistently a few minutes after feeds.
