A safe method for pyloromyotomy

The American Journal of Surgery, 1979
Pyloromyotomy often ends up as a pyloroplasty because of accidental lesions on the duodenal mucosa. This can be avoided. If the incision in the serosa is Y-shaped, the fold of mucosa that partly covers the pyloric muscle can be pushed distally and escape being punctured.

Laparoscopic Extramucosal Pyloromyotomy

1999
Laparoscopic extramucosal pyloromytomy is an excellent alternative to the classical management of hypertrophic pyloric stenosis. In May 1990 we performed the first laparoscopic pyloromyotomy (Alain, Grousseau 1991a,b). A careful follow-up of our patients demonstrates the advantages of this approach.
