Postoperative quality of life after laparoscopy‐assisted pylorus‐preserving gastrectomy compared with laparoscopy‐assisted distal gastrectomy for early gastric cancer

Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, 2020
This study aimed to investigate the postoperative quality of life (QOL) between laparoscopy‐assisted pylorus‐preserving gastrectomy (LAPPG) and laparoscopy‐assisted distal gastrectomy with Billroth I anastomosis (LADGBI) in patients with middle‐third ...

The pylorus

Neurogastroenterology & Motility, 2005
Abstract  The pylorus controls the flow between a reservoir dedicated to mechanical and chemical digestion (the stomach) and a conduit dedicated to the absorption of nutrients (the intestines). The pylorus adjusts gastric outflow resistance to physiological needs.

Reconstruction of the pylorus

World Journal of Surgery, 1982

The Double Pylorus

Scandinavian Journal of Gastroenterology, 1972
Two patients with double pylorus and two with prepyloric mucosal septum are reported. Double pylorus has previously been supposed to be congenital. Our findings suggest that it is an acquired lesion, caused by penetration of an ulcer through the pyloric ring.

In recent years, however, some case reports have indicated that this lesion may be acquired (Hansen Kronborg and Pedersen, 1972; Drapkin et al., 1974; Farack et al., 1974).

Pancreatoduodenectomy with preservation of the pylorus [PDF]

open access: possibleWorld Journal of Surgery, 1984
AbstractWe report 45 consecutive pylorus‐preserving pancreatic resections performed from September, 1979, to August, 1983, for chronic pancreatitis or a variety of periampullary malignancies without an operative death. Of these, 36 patients had pancreatoduodenectomy with pancreatic anastomosis. The most common cause of postoperative morbidity was delay
