Granulomatous Omentitis in Multiple Sheep Associated With Trueperella pyogenes and Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis: A Case Series

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 6, November 2025.
Of 6000 sheep inspected, 0.5% had granulomatous omentitis. All affected cases (25/25) were co‐infected with Trueperella pyogenes and Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis, as confirmed by PCR. This suggests a synergistic role for both bacteria in causing chronic abdominal inflammation in sheep.
