A biologically inspired computational vision front-end based on a self-organised pseudo-randomly tessellated artificial retina [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
This paper considers the construction of a biologically inspired front-end for computer vision based on an artificial retina pyramid with a self-organised pseudo-randomly tessellated receptive field tessellation.

Džedkareův pyramidový komplex: nové doklady o konci 5. dynastie | Djedkare’s pyramid complex: new evidence on the late Fifth Dynasty [PDF]

open access: yesPražské Egyptologické Studie, 2019
The pyramid complex of King Djedkare in South Saqqara is a key monument for our understanding of the history of the late Fifth and early Sixth Dynasties and of the social and religious transformations of that period.

Removing Atmospheric Turbulence Effects in Unified Complex Steerable Pyramid Framework

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Simultaneously removing atmospheric turbulence-induced geometric distortion and blurry degradation is a challenging task. In this paper, we propose an effective method to remove or at least reduce turbulence effects in unified complex steerable pyramid ...

Genetic stereo matching using complex conjugate wavelet pyramids [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings 2001 International Conference on Image Processing (Cat. No.01CH37205), 2002
A new genetic algorithm-based optimisation technique for stereo matching using complex conjugate wavelet pyramids is proposed. Reliable disparity fields are estimated in the wavelet domain with low computational cost. The new cost function is composed of the differences in wavelet coefficient values, plus vertical discontinuity and ordering constraints.
