Synthesis and Optical Properties of a Series of Push-Pull Dyes Based on Pyrene as the Electron Donor

open access: yesMolecules, 2023
Fifteen push-pull dyes comprising the tetracyclic polyaromatic pyrene have been designed and synthesized. The optical properties of the fifteen dyes have been examined in twenty-two solvents of different polarities.

Metal Complexes of π-Expanded Ligand (7): Syntheses, Structures and Properties of Pt(II) Complexes Containing the Isomeric 1- and 2-Alkyliminomethyl Pyrene Ligands

open access: yesCrystals, 2020
A [O,N] bidentate π-expanded ligand system, (E)-1-(n-octylimino)methylpyren-2-ol (2), was newly synthesized via a six-step synthesis from pyrene. The ligand 2 reacts with [PtCl2(PhCN)2] in chlorobenzene and the presence of a base at reflux for 2 h under ...

Solid-phase luminescence of pyrene in chitosan adsorbents

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Photonics & Engineering, 2020
Thepreparation methodof modified chitosan films for adsorption of pyrene from solution is described. Solid-phase luminescence of samples was studied, degree of extraction and index of polarity of microenvironment of pyrene molecules was determined.

Bacillus subtilis is a Potential Degrader of Pyrene and Benzo[a]pyrene [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, 2005
Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) are a group of compounds that pose many health threats to human and animal life. They occur in nature as a result of incomplete combustion of organic matter, as well as from many anthropogenic sources including cigarette smoke and automobile exhaust.

Acclimation of Culturable Bacterial Communities under the Stresses of Different Organic Compounds

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2018
The phylogenetic diversity of bacterial communities in response to environmental disturbances such as organic pollution has been well studied, but little is known about the way in which organic contaminants influence the acclimation of functional ...
