Active Tectonics of the Pyrenees: A review

open access: yesJournal of Iberian Geology, 2012
The Pyrenees have experienced at least seven earthquakes with magnitude M > 5 in the last 400 years. During the last decades, several seismotectonic, neotectonic and paleoseismological studies have focused on identifying the main active structures of the areas experiencing damaging earthquakes.

Beyond the breeding grounds: identifying post‐breeding staging areas, corridors and ecological niche of the Lesser Kestrel

open access: yesIbis, EarlyView.
The post‐breeding period is a critical yet overlooked phase in the annual cycle of migratory birds, where individuals must resolve competing bioenergetic trade‐offs between recovery from breeding, moult and migratory fuelling. Using GPS data from 54 adult Lesser Kestrels Falco naumanni tracked across Spain, we analysed 76 post‐breeding tracks to ...

Multi-temporal analysis of morphologic changes applying geomatic techniques. 70 years of torrential activity in the Rebaixader catchment (Central pyrenees)

open access: yesGeomatics, Natural Hazards & Risk, 2019
The monitoring of morphologic changes in high-mountain environments is an important, but complex task. Terrestrial as well as airborne laser scanning (TLS and ALS) and digital photogrammetry (DP) using Unnamed Aerial Vehicle (UAV) can determine recent ...

Dietary flexibility and high arthropod availability prevent food limitation in a mountain population of breeding Northern Wheatears

open access: yesIbis, EarlyView.
Mountain ecosystems are under strong environmental pressure and are considered highly vulnerable to climate change, which is likely to lead to forest expansion and loss of open alpine grasslands, threatening many specialized species. However, for most alpine birds, even basic ecological knowledge, such as their diet, remains limited, restricting our ...

Relationships between mountain pine and climate in the French Pyrenees (Font-Romeu) studied using the radiodensitometrical method

Embodied Narrations: Video Narrative Inquiry for Meaning‐Making of Learning Contexts

open access: yesInternational Journal of Art &Design Education, EarlyView.
Abstract This text begins with the initial question of how we can narrate in a situated and meaningful way about the processes of teaching and learning, not to repeat what we imagine that we should say and already know, but to be truthful with respect to the issues that affect us and matter to us.

Seasonality and cyclic tendency of mortality in a Pyrenean population
