Developmental toxicity of pyrethroids
Archives of Toxicology, 2003A series of studies by Eriksson (1997) has shown persisting changes in neurochemistry and behaviour of mice after administration of very low doses of a range of pesticides to the neonate. Since these studies had all been made in one laboratory and the effects were seen at dose levels which are otherwise without effect, we set out (funded by the ...

Conformational properties of pyrethroids
Journal of Computer-Aided Molecular Design, 1994X-ray database searches and theoretical potential-energy calculations indicate that the acid moieties of pyrethroid cyclopropanecarboxylate esters adopt a well-defined, relatively inflexible conformation. In contrast, the alcohol moieties can exist in many low-energy geometries.

Management of Pyrethroid Exposure
Journal of Toxicology: Clinical Toxicology, 2000Severe pyrethroid insecticide poisoning is uncommon in the developed world, but more common in developing countries because of its wide use in agriculture. This short review proposes a management strategy for pyrethroid poisoning based on the present literature.

Ecotoxicology of Synthetic Pyrethroids
2011In this chapter we review the ecotoxicology of the synthetic pyrethroids (SPs). SPs are potent, broad-spectrum insecticides. Their effects on a wide range of nontarget species have been broadly studied, and there is an extensive database available to evaluate their effects.

Progress and Future of Pyrethroids
2011After the chemical structure of "natural pyrethrins," the insecticidal ingredient of pyrethrum flowers, was elucidated, useful synthetic pyrethroids provided with various characteristics have been developed by organic chemists throughout the world, leading to the advancement of pyrethroid chemistry.

Abstract Pyrethroids are derived from the natural pyrethrins, the in secticidal ingredients of pyrethrum flowers (Chrysanthe mum spp.) (82). Early synthetic pyrethroid insecticides, [e.g., allethrin (112)], resemble pyrethrin I, a major constituent of the natural pyrethrins. Pyrethrins and most pyrethroids are esters

A system containing a polyarylphenolethoxylate as the nonionic surfactant, and a calcium dodecylbenzenesulfonate in alcohol as the anionic surfactant and co-surfactant respectively, was used to study microemulsions of Permethrin and Cypermethrin (common insecticides of the important Pyrethroids class).

Research into fluorinated pyrethroid alcohols-an episode in the history of pyrethroid discovery
Pesticide Science, 1998An account of pyrethroid research from 1975 to 1985 at Bayer AG is given. The exploitation of fluorine chemistry for this purpose led to increased activity of known 3-phenoxybenzyl pyrethroid esters and to the commercialisation of the broad-spectrum insecticide cyfluthrin, the particularly tick-toxic flumethrin and the rapid-acting household ...

An introduction to the metabolism of pyrethroids
1980The metabolism of both the natural and synthetic pyrethroids1 is a complicated and overpowering subject. In this report a historical review of the literature is presented in the hope that the facts which comprise the current wealth of information can be presented individually, roughly in order of their discovery.
