4-(3-Ethoxy-4-hydroxystyryl)-1-methylpyridinium tosylate monohydrate

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2009
In the title compound, C16H18NO2+·C7H7O3S−·H2O, the dihedral angle between the pyridyl and benzene rings of the pyridinium cation is 0.2 (1)°. The benzene ring of the tosylate anion makes a dihedral angle of 4.8 (2)°

In situ loading and delivery of short single- And double-stranded dna by supramolecular organic frameworks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Short DNA represents an important class of biomacromolecules that are widely applied in gene therapy, editing, and modulation. However, the development of simple and reliable methods for their intracellular delivery remains a challenge.

Cyanoacetamidobetaine—A Zwitterionic Nitrile Derivative

open access: yesChemistryOpen, EarlyView.
The reaction of sodium dicyanamide with betainium chloride in aqueous solution affords N‐cyano‐2‐(trimethylammonio)acetaminide (cyanoacetamidobetaine). Single crystal X‐ray diffraction reveals a monoclinic structure comprising a trimethylammonium head group connected to a cyanoacetaminide unit via a methylene bridge.

Pyridinium bis(pyridine-κN)tetrakis(thiocyanato-κN)ferrate(III)

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2013
In the title compound, (C5H6N)[Fe(NCS)4(C5H5N)2], the FeIII ion is coordinated by four thiocyanate N atoms and two pyridine N atoms in a trans arrangement, forming an FeN6 polyhedron with a slightly distorted octahedral geometry.

Efficient One‐Pot Synthesis of Benzothiazole Compounds From Vinamidinium Salts

open access: yesChemistryOpen, EarlyView.
A catalyst‐free one‐pot reaction of vinamidinium salts with benzothiazole hydrazines efficiently produces 1,3‐bis((3‐methylbenzo[d]thiazol‐2(3H)‐ylidene)hydrazineylidene)propan‐2‐ol (BBTA) and 1‐((1Z,3E)‐1‐(dimethylamino)‐3‐(((Z)‐3‐methylbenzo[d]thiazol‐2(3H)‐ylidene)hydrazineylidene)prop‐1‐en‐2‐yl)pyridin‐1‐ium (DMBT) derivatives. This simple method ...

Water Co‐Adsorption in Ultrathin Films of Ionic Liquids on Pt(111)

open access: yesChemistryOpen, EarlyView.
At 100 K, IL adsorption on D2O precovered Pt(111) partially displaces interfacial water resulting in a water‐IL co‐adsorbed layer. Upon heating to 130 K, IL ions migrate to the metal interface, thereby destabilizing adsorbed water as shown by the ≈10 K reduction in its desorption temperature.

Plasmonic Hot‐Carrier Redox Enables Proton‐Coupled Electron Transfer at C─H Bonds

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 6, 2 February 2026.
Plasmonic hot carriers provide unprecedented control over coupled electron–proton transfer, enabling visible‐light activation of strong C─H bonds. Using an energy‐filter electrode, we reveal a stepwise electron‐then‐proton pathway and directly tune the underlying driving forces.

Facile access to pyridinium-based bent aromatic amphiphiles: nonionic surface modification of nanocarbons in water

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry
Efficient water-solubilization of nanocarbons is desirable for both their biological and material applications, but so far has mainly relied on covalent modifications or amphiphiles featuring ionic side-chains. Here, we report a facile 2–4-step synthesis
