All‐in‐One Intelligent Hemostatic Sponge: Rapid Hemostasis for Non‐Compressive Wounds With Synergetic Enhanced Antibacterial Efficacy and Self‐Reporting Biodegradation

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Clinicians often concurrently tackle critical challenges including emergency hemorrhage, secondary infection, and the elusive tracking of biodegradation of conventional hemostatic agents for complex wounds. Here, we report an intelligent hemostatic sponge (spCS@AIE) by incorporating aggregation‐induced emission (AIE) nanoparticles with short‐wave ...

A Modular Synthesis of Isoindole/Indolizine Hybrids via the 1,3‐Dipolar Cycloaddition of Pyridine‐Based Mesoionics with Benzyne

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
An approach to prepare pyrido[2,1‐a]isoindoles via the cycloaddition of pyridine‐based 1,3‐dipoles and benzyne is described, offering modular access to a range of substituted products by systematic tuning of the dipole. A modular strategy for the synthesis of fused indolizine/isoindole hybrids, pyrido[2,1‐α]isoindoles, via cycloaddition of pyridine ...

Synthesis, characterisation and magnetic behaviour of ionic metalloporphyrins: metal-tetrakis(N-octyl-4-pyridinium)-porphyrins with tetrabromoferrate(III) anions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A series of magnetic, ionic-substituted tetrapyridyl metalloporphyrins, [tetrakis(N-octyl-4-pyridinium)-metal-porphyrin][tetrabromoferrate(III)] 4 (metal=iron, cobalt, manganese, copper or zinc), have been synthesised.

Antibacterial Hydrogel Dressing With Ca2+‐Dependent Hyaluronidase Responsiveness for Accelerating Wound Healing via On‐Demand Release of AIE Photosensitizers

open access: yesExploration, EarlyView.
This study innovates a Ca2+‐responsive hydrogel dressing that releases AIE photosensitizers on‐demand. Low Ca2+ enhances bacterial hyaluronidase (HAase) activity, degrading hyaluronic acid dressing to trigger antibacterial ROS release, while high Ca2+ inhibits HAase, preventing overdosing.

Pyridinium ylids in synthesis. III. Synthesis of indolizines

open access: yes, 1967
Treatment of pyridinium, quinolinium, and isoquinolinium ylids with acetylenes yields indolizine derivatives. Pyridinium phenacylid with iodine in dimethylacetamide gives 1,2,3-tribenzoylindolizine.

Catalytic Functionalization of Unactivated π‐Bonds Enabled by Bidentate Directing Auxiliaries

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 28, 6 July 2026.
This review explores how bidentate directing auxiliaries have advanced transition‐metal catalysis for unactivated alkene/alkyne functionalization. By leveraging chelated intermediates, bidentate directing auxiliaries enable precise hydrofunctionalization, difunctionalization, and C─H activation of π‐bonds with unique selectivity and reactivity.

Catechol‐Containing Poly(2‐isopropyl‐2‐oxazoline): Synthesis and Thermoresponsive Behavior in Aqueous Salt Solutions

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
Polymers carrying catechol groups are interesting mussel‐inspired materials for wet adhesion applications or metal ion complexation for wastewater treatment. Here, catechol‐containing poly(2‐isopropyl‐2‐oxazoline)s were synthesized via microwave‐assisted cationic (co)polymerization and examined with regard to their thermoresponsive LCST behavior in ...
