Welded pyroclastic rock at Tongariro [PDF]
Abstract Although the rocks of Tongariro National Park have been mapped and their petrograplty is reasonably well known, little attention has so far been paid to their physical character and modes of eruption. Lava, scoria, and ash are the most common types, though hot avalanches that erupted in 1949 and 1954 have been described by Battey (1949) and ...

The Study of Derinkuyu Underground City in Cappadocia Located in Pyroclastic Rock Materials
AbstractIts aim is to provide a case study of the historical underground city built for up to 20 thousand people. This is a very specific, building-urban concept that is tied to the extraction of tuff rock building materials. These pyroclastic material ejected volcano in contact with Anatolian and Arabian tectonic plates.

PETROGRAPHY OF PYROCLASTIC ROCK MOUNT MASURAI JAMBI PROVINCE
The magmatic arc of Sumatra Island, which is indicated by the presence of the Barisan Mountains zone on the west side of Sumatra Island with a general direction northwest - southeast, makes Mount Masurai, which is administratively in Merangin Regency, Jambi Province, become one of the volcanoes on Sumatra Island.

Rock strength as a metric of welding intensity in pyroclastic deposits [PDF]
Welding of pyroclastic deposits describes the flattening of glassy pyroclasts under a compactional load at temperatures above the glass transition temperature. Traditionally, this process is mapped using metrics such as density, porosity or fabric. Here we develop rock strength as an ancillary tool for mapping variations in welding intensity.

The fragmentation threshold of pyroclastic rocks [PDF]
In response to rapid decompression, porous magma may fragment explosively. This occurs when the melt can no longer withstand forces exerted upon it due to the overpressure in included bubbles. This occurs at a critical pressure difference between the bubbles and the surrounding magma. In this study we have investigated this pressure threshold necessary
