Giant electrocaloric effect in thin film Pb Zr_0.95 Ti_0.05 O_3

open access: yes, 2005
An applied electric field can reversibly change the temperature of an electrocaloric material under adiabatic conditions, and the effect is strongest near phase transitions.

A Supramolecular Ferroelectric With Two Sublattices and Polarization Dependent Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric behavior in a supramolecular material with two, independently switchable, sublattices is demonstrated. The sublattices can be associated with the two dipolar groups in the compound. Moreover, the polarization is found to couple to the charge transport in the material, giving rise to a switchable, directional conductivity.

Importance of second-order piezoelectric effects in zincblende semiconductors

open access: yes, 2006
We show that the piezoelectric effect that describes the emergence of an electric field in response to a crystal deformation in III-V semiconductors such as GaAs and InAs has strong contributions from second-order effects that have been neglected so far.
