Pyrolysis of the tetra pak

This study deals with pyrolysis of tetra pak which is widely used as an aseptic beverage packaging material. Pyrolysis experiments were carried out under inert atmosphere in a batch reactor at different temperatures and by different pyrolysis modes (one- and two-step). The yields of char, liquid and gas were quantified.

However fast pyrolysis has the potential for producing over 60% of an organic pyrolysis oil from biomass. Abstract Pyrolysis of two petroleum residues, R1 and R2 of different aromaticities, were studied at 0.1 and 1.0 MPa, 420–480°C, for soak times up to 12 h. Pyrolysis was followed by extracting resultant semicokes, sequentially, with heptane, toluene and N-methyl-pyrrolidinone to obtain four fractions HS, TS, NMPS and NMPI.
