Action mechanism of a novel herbicide, pyroxasulfone
Pesticide Biochemistry and Physiology, 2009The mechanism of action of pyroxasulfone was studied by examination of the inhibitory effects of this herbicide on the biosynthesis of very-long-chain fatty acids (VLCFAs) both in vivo and in vitro. Pyroxasulfone treatment drastically reduced the biosynthesis of VLCFAs and caused a buildup of fatty acid precursors in cultured rice cells.

Vegetable Soybean Tolerance to Pyroxasulfone
Weed Technology, 2017If registered for use on vegetable soybean, pyroxasulfone would expand the options for weed management systems in the crop. In order to determine the potential crop injury risk of pyroxasulfone on vegetable soybean, the objective of this work was to quantify vegetable soybean tolerance to pyroxasulfone applied PRE and EPOST.

Four field studies were conducted over a 3-yr period (2011 to 2013) to determine the tolerance of four soybean cultivars to pyroxasulfone (89 and 178 g ai ha−1), flumioxazin (71 and 142 g ai ha−1), and pyroxasulfone + flumioxazin (160 and 320 g ai ha−1) applied either preplant incorporated (PPI), PRE, or at the soybean cotyledon stage (COT).

Weed control in wheat with pyroxasulfone and its combinations with other herbicides
Weed Biology and Management, 2023AbstractField and pot investigations were conducted to determine the effectiveness of pyroxasulfone alone and its combinations with other herbicides against diverse weed flora of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) including multiple herbicide‐resistant (MHR) littleseed canarygrass (Phalaris minor Retz.).

Response of Palmer Amaranth and Sweetpotato to Flumioxazin/Pyroxasulfone
Weed Technology, 2018AbstractStudies were conducted to determine the tolerance of sweetpotato and Palmer amaranth control to a premix of flumioxazin and pyroxasulfone pretransplant (PREtr) followed by (fb) irrigation. Greenhouse studies were conducted in a factorial arrangement of four herbicide rates (flumioxazin/pyroxasulfone PREtr at 105/133 and 57/72 g ai ha–1,S ...

Efficacy of pyroxasulfone in soybean crops
Bulletin of KSAUThe purpose of research is to study the effect of the herbicide Karitori, WSG (850 g/kg), based on the new active ingredient pyroxasulfone, on the weed component in soybean crops in the conditions of the Russian Federation. Objectives: to evaluate the biological effectiveness of the herbicide Karitori, WSG, against a complex of weeds; to assess the ...
