Peanut Cultivar Response to Preemergence Applications of Pyroxasulfone
ABSTRACT Pyroxasulfone is a residual herbicide developed for use in several agronomic crops such as corn (Zea mays L.), soybean (Glycine max L.), wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), and sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.). Pyroxasulfone provides effective preemergence (PRE) control of annual grasses and broadleaf weeds, but little is known ...

Influence of saflufenacil encapsulation on corn phytotoxicity and residual broadleaf weed control
Saflufenacil, a herbicide that inhibits protoporphyrinogen oxidase, has been reformulated as a microencapsulation for preemergence and postemergence applications to corn, with the primary purpose of the encapsulation to reduce the risk of corn injury ...

Peanut Response to Pyroxasulfone in Texas and Oklahoma
Field studies were conducted in southwestern Oklahoma (Ft. Cobb) and in south Texas (Yoakum) and the southern High Plains of Texas (Seminole) during the 2019 and 2020 growing seasons to evaluate peanut cultivar tolerance to pyroxasulfone at 0.09 and 0.12 kg ai/ha applied at peanut cracking (CRACK), early postemergence (EPOST), or mid-postemergence ...

Early-planted soybean weed management as affected by herbicide application rate and timing
The opportunity to increase soybean yield has prompted Illinois farmers to plant soybean earlier than historical norms. Extending the growing season with an earlier planting date might alter the relationship between soybean growth and weed emergence ...

Comparison the biodegradation of herbicide pyroxasulfone by some soil bacteria
The biodegradation of pyroxasulfone (C12H14F5N3O4S), which is the selective herbicide in wheat farming in Turkey is compared with some soil bacteria. These microorganisms were isolated in collected soil samples in Thrace region of Turkey from an agricultural area previously unexposed to pyroxasulfone.

Resistance profile of glufosinate-resistant Palmer amaranth accessions and herbicide options
Glufosinate resistance was previously confirmed in three Palmer amaranth accessions from Arkansas (MSR1, MSR2, and CCR). Greenhouse screening results suggested the presence of multiple herbicide resistance.
