Studies on Pyrrhotite. I : Combustibility of Pyrrhotite

open access: yesStudies on Pyrrhotite. I : Combustibility of Pyrrhotite
application/pdf In order to obtain a precise understanding of the combustibility of pyrrhotite, the roasting reaction rates and the relations between the roasting reactions and the roasting temperatures were investigated. It was found that pyrrhotite had a fairly low combustibility resulting from the low ignitibility, the slow reaction rate of oxide ...

Bullion production in imperial China and its significance for sulphide ore smelting world-wide [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Gold and silver production was of major importance for almost all ancient societies but has been rarely studied archaeologically. Here we present a reconstruction of a previously undocumented technology used to recover gold, silver and lead at the site ...

Studies on Pyrrhotite. III : Sintering of Pyrrhotite Cinder

open access: yesStudies on Pyrrhotite. III : Sintering of Pyrrhotite Cinder
application/pdf The progress of sintering of pyrrhotite cinder during the process of roasting was studied by measuring the resistance of cinder to the penetration of a slender rod. The results showed that pyrrhotite cinder, in general, began to sinter at 250-350℃ with a very high resistance to the penetration of a rod.

Gossans on Mars: Spectral features attributed to jarosite [PDF]

open access: yes
Jarosites, which are present in terrestrial gossans capping oxidized sulfides associated with mafic igneous rocks, may also be present in Martian regolith. Spectral characteristics of jarosites are displayed in remote sensed reflectance spectra of bright

Characteristics of a New Carbonaceous Chondrite, Metal-Rich-Lithology Found in the Carbonaceous Chondrite Breccia Aguas Zarcas [PDF]

open access: yes
The Aguas Zarcas meteorite fell in Costa Rica on 23 April 2019 at 21:07 local time, with a total mass of about 27 kg. Hundreds of fusion-crusted stones ranging from 0.1 to 1868 g were recovered (The Meteoritical Bulletin). The meteorite was classified as
