Effects of cardiac motion on dose distribution during stereotactic arrhythmia radioablation treatment: A simulation and phantom study

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Cardiac motion may degrade dose distribution during stereotactic arrhythmia radioablation using the CyberKnife system, a robotic radiosurgery system. This study evaluated the dose distribution changes using a self‐made cardiac dynamic platform that mimics cardiac motion. Methods The cardiac dynamic platform was operated with amplitudes

Towards Memory Safe Python Enclave for Security Sensitive Computation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Intel SGX Guard eXtensions (SGX), a hardware-supported trusted execution environment (TEE), is designed to protect security-sensitive applications. However, since enclave applications are developed with memory unsafe languages such as C/C++, traditional memory corruption is not eliminated in SGX.

OMB-Py: Python Micro-Benchmarks for Evaluating Performance of MPI Libraries on HPC Systems [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Python has become a dominant programming language for emerging areas like Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), and Data Science (DS). An attractive feature of Python is that it provides easy-to-use programming interface while allowing library developers to enhance performance of their applications by harnessing the computing power offered by High

Closing the gap in plan quality: Leveraging deep‐learning dose prediction for adaptive radiotherapy

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Balancing quality and efficiency has been a challenge for online adaptive therapy. Most systems start the online re‐optimization with the original planning goals. While some systems allow planners to modify the planning goals, achieving a high‐quality plan within time constraints remains a common barrier.

Network features and pathway analyses of a signal transduction cascade

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroinformatics, 2009
The scale-free and small-world network models reflect the functional units of networks. However, when we investigated the network properties of a signaling pathway using these models, no significant differences were found between the original undirected ...

Dose rate correction of a diode array for universal wedge field dosimetric verification

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To study the performance of MapCHECK 3 (MC3) in measuring universal wedge fields and propose a dose rate correction strategy to improve MC3 measurement accuracy. Materials and methods Universal wedge fields with different wedge angles and field sizes were measured at different depths using MC3.

Exploring surface‐guided systems for intelligent breathing‐adapted four‐dimensional computed tomography: A comparison to infrared‐based reflective marker systems

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose This study evaluates the technical feasibility of adapting a surface monitoring system, designed for conventional four‐dimensional computed tomography (4DCT), to an intelligent, breathing‐adapted 4DCT and examines its potential to expand the currently limited range of supported surrogate systems.

Amebiasis in Four Ball Pythons, Python reginus.

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Medical Science, 2001
Between September 13th and November 18th in 1999, four ball pythons, Python reginus kept in the same display, showed anorexia and died one after another. At necropsy, all four snakes had severe hemorrhagic colitis. Microscopically, all snakes had severe necrotizing hemorrhagic colitis, in association with ameba-like protozoa.
