ABSTRACT Insulation failures resulting from partial discharges (PD) in generator stator windings represent a leading cause of generator breakdowns. Conventional acoustic emission sensors for detecting PD ultrasonic signals are typically made from bulky piezoelectric materials and are restricted to external placement on the generator.

ABSTRACT The detection of partial discharges (PD) on the power transformer tank demands higher sensitivity in ultrasonic detection. To target the detection frequency band for sensor optimisation and enhance sensitivity, this paper presents a dual‐frequency sensitivity model for optical fibre ultrasonic sensors.

Challenges during Flash Lamp Annealing of Aerosol‐Deposited Barium Titanate Films
Aerosol deposition is used to rapidly deposit barium titanate films with thicknesses ranging from 2 to 16 μm at room temperature, eliminating the need for further densification. However, to recover the electromechanical properties, annealing is required, which limits the usage of temperature‐sensitive substrates.

Screening of the bound polarization charges of ferroelectrics at electrode interfaces is accommodated either by electrode charges or by charge injection. By means of X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy with in‐situ polarization reversal, it is demonstrated that screening charges at antiferroelectric La‐doped Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 are injected, while they remain at ...
