Identifying transcription factors controlling the basal expression of human MRP4 highlights a substantial role for Sp1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The MRP4 transporter exports several drugs and signaling molecules. Here, we identified key promoter elements regulating basal MRP4 expression. Using reporter assays, we defined a conserved region with essential Sp1 and contributory Ets sites, which controlled basal MRP4 expression.

Measurement of exclusive p(+)p(-) production in mid-virtuality two-photon interactions and study of the yy* -\u3e pp process at LEP

open access: yes, 2005
Exclusive p(+)p(-) production in two-photon collisions between a quasi-real photon, gamma, and a mid-virtuality photon, gamma*, is studied with data collected at LEP at centre-of-mass energies 183 GeV \u3c= root s- \u3c= 209 GeV with a total integrated ...

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

The Process $\gamma^*_L$ + $q \to (q \overline q g)$ + q: Real corrections to the virtual photon impact factor

open access: yes, 2002
We calculate, for the longitudinally polarized virtual photon, the cross section of the process \gamma^{*}+q\to (q\bar{q}g)+q at high energies with a large rapidity gap between the fragmentation system q\bar{q}g and the other quark. This process provides

Decision-making using quasirung orthopair fuzzy exponential aggregation operators for carbon capture technology selection

open access: yesScientific Reports
The selection of optimal carbon capture technologies is paramount in enhancing the efficiency of carbon emission mitigation efforts. Due to the multifaceted nature of the influencing factors, a robust and systematic approach is essential for identifying ...

Versatile vector tools for efficient protein screening across multiple expression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A unified vector toolkit enables rapid protein expression screening across E. coli, insect, and mammalian cells. A single primer pair amplifies the target gene, which is inserted into any vector via a standardized interface. This streamlined workflow eliminates repeated cloning steps, accelerating the identification of optimal expression conditions for

Time‐restricted feeding prior to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection reduces tissue CD4+ T cells with limited impact on bacterial clearance

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) in mice increased liver fatty acid oxidation and decreased fatty acid biosynthesis. These alterations persisted when TRF was discontinued and the host was infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pre‐exposure to TRF did not alter tissue (lung and spleen) mycobacterial burden but significantly reduced CD3+ T cells in lungs

Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.

Effect of Q&P Process on 0.15C-MnSi Steels

open access: yes
The present study is focused on analyzing the effect of Mn amount on two experimental steel compositions, specially designed for Q&P (Quenching and Partitioning), 0.15C-2.5Mn-1.5Si and 0.15C-3Mn-1.5Si without significant contribution of Al.
