On the perturbation of the Q‐factor of the QR factorization
Numerical Linear Algebra with Applications, 2011SUMMARYThis paper gives normwise and componentwise perturbation analyses for the Q‐factor of the QR factorization of the matrix A with full column rank when A suffers from an additive perturbation. Rigorous perturbation bounds are derived on the projections of the perturbation of the Q‐factor in the range of A and its orthogonal complement.

A Note on the Perturbation Bound of Q-factors

Antenna Q-factor computation with FDTD method
11th International Symposium on Antenna Technology and Applied Electromagnetics [ANTEM 2005], 2005In this work, we have developed a new method for the calculation of the antenna quality factor by using the numerical method FDTD. The results obtained with our method are compared with the analytical approach of McLean and Geyi. The results show good agreement between FDTD and Geyi formulation.

Mode localization and the Q-factor of a cylindrical microresonator
Optics Letters, 2010As opposed to the modes in an optical spherical/spheroidal microresonator, the whispering gallery modes in a long cylindrical microresonator are delocalized. Consequently, a circulating light beam that is evanescently coupled into the cylinder and experiences total internal reflection eventually radiates out along the cylinder axis.
