We use liquid phase exfoliation to produce dispersions of molybdenum disulphide (MoS2) nanoflakes in aqueous surfactant solutions. The chemical structures of the bile salt surfactants play a crucial role in the exfoliation and stabilization of MoS2.

Graphene Q-Switched Compact Yb:YAG Laser
We describe a compact Yb:YAG laser Q-switched by a graphene-based saturable absorber and pumped by a laser diode at 932 or 969 nm. The compact laser generates a maximum average output power value of 185 mW at 1032 nm with a slope efficiency value of 12%.

A review of laser and light therapy in melasma
Melasma is a dysregulation of the homeostatic mechanisms that control skin pigmentation and excess pigment is produced. Traditional treatment approaches with topical medications and chemical peels are commonly used but due to the refractory and recurrent

Every Good Virtue You Ever Wanted in a Q-switched Solid-state Laser and More: Monolithic, Diode-pumped, Self-q-switched, Highly Reproducible, Diffraction-limited Nd:yag Laser [PDF]
The applications of Q-switched lasers are well known, for example, laser radar, laser remote sensing, satellite orbit determination, Moon orbit and 'moon quake' determination, satellite laser communication, and many nonlinear optics applications. Most of

New regime of inverse saturable absorption for self-stabilizing passively mode-locked lasers [PDF]
The reflectivity of a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM) is generally expected to increase with increasing pulse energy. However, for higher pulse energies the reflectivity can decrease again; we call this a ‘roll-over' of the nonlinear ...

In this paper, we demonstrated passively Q-switched wavelength-tunable 1-μm fiber lasers utilizing few-layer black phosphorus saturable absorbers. The few-layer BP was deposited onto the tapered fibers by an optically driven process.

Tm3+/Ho3+ codoped tellurite fiber laser
Continuous-wave and Q-switched lasing from a Tm 3+ /Ho 3+ codoped tellurite fiber is reported. An Yb 3+ /Er 3+ -doped silica fiber laser operating at 1.6μm was used as an in-band pump source, exciting the Tm 3+ ions into the F 4 3 level.

Generation of RF Intensity-Modulated Laser Pulses by Dual-Frequency Injection Seeding
In order to obtain high peak power RF intensity-modulated pulses for long-distance applications, a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser is injection seeded by a dual-frequency laser signal. The beat note frequency of the dual-frequency laser signal is adjusted to the
