A Resilient Deep Learning Approach for State Estimation in Distribution Grids With Distributed Generation

open access: yesInternational Transactions on Electrical Energy Systems, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
State estimation is a challenging problem, particularly in distribution grids that have unique characteristics compared with transmission grids. Conventional methods that solve the state estimation problem at the transmission level require the grid to be observable, which does not apply to distribution grids.

Experimental evidence for the Volume Conjecture for the simplest hyperbolic non-2-bridge knot

open access: yes, 2005
Loosely speaking, the Volume Conjecture states that the limit of the n-th colored Jones polynomial of a hyperbolic knot, evaluated at the primitive complex n-th root of unity is a sequence of complex numbers that grows exponentially.

Automated grading of anatomical objective structured practical examinations using decision trees: An artificial intelligence approach

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, Volume 17, Issue 5, Page 967-978, July/August 2024.
Abstract An Objective Structured Practical Examination (OSPE) is an effective and robust, but resource‐intensive, means of evaluating anatomical knowledge. Since most OSPEs employ short answer or fill‐in‐the‐blank style questions, the format requires many people familiar with the content to mark the examinations.

On algebraic construction of certain integrable and super-integrable systems

open access: yes, 2010
We propose a new construction of two-dimensional natural bi-Hamiltonian systems associated with a very simple Lie algebra. The presented construction allows us to distinguish three families of super-integrable monomial potentials for which one additional

The road to sustainability: Examining key drivers in open access diamond journal publishing

open access: yesLearned Publishing, Volume 37, Issue 3, July 2024.
Abstract Despite the rising interest in open access (OA) diamond journals as a scholarly journal publishing model, their sustainability remains a pressing concern. Using the Open Access Diamond Journals Study (OADJS) Dataset, we examined the characteristics and factors of OA diamond journal publishing that are associated with high sustainability.
