Optimisation of metamaterials by Q factor
The Q factors of different elemental structures of metamaterials are investigated. Electromagnetic simulation and experiments have been used and the results from both studies exhibit good agreement. The origin and role of radiation losses is discussed and the effect on the resulting value of Q is highlighted. Some high-Q structures are identified which

Live Cell Therapy as Potential Risk Factor for Q Fever
During an outbreak of Q fever in Germany, we identified an infected sheep flock from which animals were routinely used as a source for life cell therapy (LCT), the injection of fetal cells or cell extracts from sheep into humans.

Purification tags markedly affect self‐aggregation of CPEB3
Although recombinant proteins are used to study protein aggregation in vitro, uncleaved tags can interfere with accurate interpretation. Our findings demonstrate that His₆‐GFP and His₁₂ tags significantly affect liquid droplet and amyloid fibril formation in the intrinsically disordered region (IDR) of mouse cytoplasmic polyadenylation element‐binding ...

High-Q-Factor Silica-Based Racetrack Microring Resonators
In this paper, ultrahigh-Q factor racetrack microring resonators (MRRs) are demonstrated based on silica planar lightwave circuits (PLCs) platform. A loaded ultrahigh-Q factor Qload of 1.83 × 106 is obtained.

The factorization of aq-difference equation for continuousq-Hermite polynomials [PDF]
We argue that a customary q-difference equation for the continuous q-Hermite polynomials H_n(x|q) can be written in the factorized form as (D_q^2 - 1)H_n(x|q)=(q^{-n}-1)H_n(x|q), where D_q is some explicitly known q-difference operator. This means that the polynomials H_n(x|q) are in fact governed by the q-difference equation D_qH_n(x|q)=q^{-n/2}H_n(x ...

Circulating histones as clinical biomarkers in critically ill conditions
Circulating histones are emerging as promising biomarkers in critical illness due to their diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic potential. Detection methods such as ELISA and mass spectrometry provide reliable approaches for quantifying histone levels in plasma samples.

High-Q-Factor Tunable Silica-Based Microring Resonators
A high-Q-factor tunable silica-based microring resonator (MRR) is demonstrated. To meet the critical-coupling condition, a Mach–Zehnder interferometer (MZI) as the tunable coupler was integrated with a racetrack resonator.

On the q-factorization of power series
Any power series with unit constant term can be factored into an infinite product of the form $\prod_{n\geq 1} (1-q^n)^{-a_n}$. We give direct formulas for the exponents $a_n$ in terms of the coefficients of the power series, and vice versa, as sums over partitions. As examples, we prove identities for certain partition enumeration functions.

Frequency and Q factor control of nanomechanical resonators [PDF]
We present an integrated scheme for dielectric drive and read-out of high-Q nanomechanical resonators that enable tuning of both the resonance frequency and quality factor with an applied dc voltage. A simple model for altering these quantities is derived, incorporating the resonator's complex electric polarizability and position in an inhomogeneous ...

This study reveals how prime editing guide RNA (pegRNA) secondary structure and reverse transcriptase template length affect prime editing efficiency in correcting the phospholamban R14del cardiomyopathy‐associated mutation. Insights support the design of structurally optimized enhanced pegRNAs for precise gene therapy.
