Origin and evolution of the most Mars-like yardang landforms in the Qaidam Basin of Northwest China
The inland basins of western China are home to the world’s earliest definition of yardangs, which are streamlined, wind-sculpted landforms. The Qaidam Basin in northwestern China hosts one of the largest yardang fields on Earth, which has been regarded ...

Provenance and sedimentology of Red Clay and loess in northern China [PDF]
Red Clay and overlying loess-palaeosol sequences are typical for the area in northern China that is known as the Chinese Loess Plateau (CLP). These primarily aeolian sediments provide one of the best terrestrial archives of Neogene-Quaternary climate ...

Joint inversion of surface waves and teleseismic body waves across the Tibetan collision zone: The fate of subducted Indian lithosphere [PDF]
We carry out a joint inversion of surface wave dispersion curves and teleseismic shear wave arrival times across the Tibetan collision zone, from just south of the Himalaya to the Qaidam Basin at the northeastern margin of the plateau, and from the ...

Abstract The vertical distribution of aerosols in the upper troposphere (UT) and lower stratosphere is critical for aerosol‐cloud interactions. Balloon‐borne measurements in Golmud, over the northern Tibetan Plateau revealed enhanced particle backscatter and number concentrations in the UT and up to 0.5 km above the tropopause on 27 March 2021.

A holistic utilization system that integrates large‐scale CO2 storage, water recovery, heat extraction, hydrogen production, and energy storage is presented. The whole system can be further divided into upstream industries (CO2‐enhanced water recovery module), midstream industries (green‐hydrogen production module), and downstream industries (energy ...
