Holographic zero sound from spacetime-filling branes

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
We use holography to study sound modes of strongly-interacting conformal field theories with non-zero temperature, T , and U(1) chemical potential, μ. Specifically, we consider charged black brane solutions of Einstein gravity in (3+1)-dimensional Anti ...

Poincaré constraints on celestial amplitudes

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
The functional structure of celestial amplitudes as constrained by Poincare symmetry is investigated in 2, 3, and 4-point cases for massless external particles of various spin, as well as massive external scalars.

Integrated massive vertex operator in pure spinor formalism

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
We construct the integrated vertex operator for the first massive states of open superstrings with (mass)2 = 1/α ′ in the pure spinor formalism of the superstring theory. This vertex operator is expressed in terms of the ten dimensional N = 1 $$ \mathcal{

Forward charm-production models and prompt neutrinos at IceCube

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
We investigate the prompt neutrino background at IceCube, as determined from forward charm. We consider the role of intrinsic charm and of a recombination model and show that the contribution of these mechanisms is at most a factor two.

Is the EMI model a QFT? An inquiry on the space of allowed entropy functions

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
The mutual information I(A, B) of pairs of spatially separated regions satisfies, for any d-dimensional CFT, a set of structural physical properties such as positivity, monotonicity, clustering, or Poincaré invariance, among others.

Hydroxyethyl starch 130/0.42 versus Ringer's acetate in severe sepsis.

open access: yesNew England Journal of Medicine, 2012
BACKGROUND Hydroxyethyl starch (HES) [corrected] is widely used for fluid resuscitation in intensive care units (ICUs), but its safety and efficacy have not been established in patients with severe sepsis.

Dynamics of N5+-H electron capture in Debye plasmas

open access: yesMatter and Radiation at Extremes, 2016
The electron capture in N5+-H collisions imbedded in a Debye plasma is studied by using the two-center atomic orbital close-coupling method in the energy range from 1 keV/u to 200 keV/u.

Emergent geometry through quantum entanglement in Matrix theories

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
In the setting of the Berenstein-Maldacena-Nastase Matrix theory, dual to light-cone M-theory in a PP-wave background, we compute the Von Neumann entanglement entropy between a probe giant graviton and a source.
