QCD and Supersymmetry

Crossing the Boundaries, 2009
We review the connection between QCD and supersymmetric theories. We focus on the non-perturbative large- N (planar) correspondence between one-flavor QCD and pure supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory ([Formula: see text]). We explain how non-perturbative quantities in QCD, such as the quark condensate, can be evaluated by using the corresponding non ...

Order of the QCD transition and QCD sum rules

Physical Review D, 1992
We propose using the finite-temperature {rho}-meson mass as an order parameter to monitor the QCD transition. This is suggested by the {rho}-meson mass formula that emerges from finite-temperature QCD sum rules in the vector channel, and which encompasses the effects of both quark and gluon condensates.

QCD in a Box

Fortschritte der Physik, 2000
Summary: This talk is based on some work done in colloboration with \textit{U. Mitreuter, J. M. Pawlowski, T. Tok} and \textit{A. Wipf} [Ann. Phys. 269, 26-50 (1998; Zbl 0927.58024)]. We consider QCD on a Euclidean four torus \(T^4\). The usual periodic boundary conditions are only applicable in the perturbative sector.

Nonperturbative QCD and supersymmetric QCD

Uspekhi Fizicheskih Nauk, 2004
Nonperturbative phenomena in quantum chromodynamics (QCD) and, in particular, confinement are reviewed. As an example of the treatment, an exact solution of the =2 supersymmetric Yang–Mills gauge theory is presented. Prospects for application of the duality idea in QCD are discussed.

QCD at collider energies

Physical Review D, 1986
We examine available experimental distributions of transverse energy and transverse momentum, obtained at the CERN pp-bar collider, in the context of quantum chromodynamics. We consider the following. (i) The hadronic transverse energy released during W/sup + -/ production. This hadronic transverse energy is made out of two components: a soft component

Basics of QCD and Lattice QCD

2017
In this chapter, we review the basics and motivations of this thesis. The main subject of this paper is the relation between the non-perturbative phenomena such as quark-confinement and chiral symmetry breaking in QCD. First of all, I review the basics of QCD, including order parameters for confinement and Banks–Casher relation.
