Many-excitation removal of a transmon qubit using a single-junction quantum-circuit refrigerator and a two-tone microwave drive

open access: yesScientific Reports
Achieving fast and precise initialization of qubits is a critical requirement for the successful operation of quantum computers. The combination of engineered environments with all-microwave techniques has recently emerged as a promising approach for the

Implications of protecting the QCD axion in the dual description

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
The QCD axion can be formulated in a dual description as a massive 2-form field. In this picture, the QCD axion quality problem translates into the question if there are additional 3-forms coupled to the axion other than the QCD 3-form that emerges at ...

Generalized Beth–Uhlenbeck Entropy Formula From the Φ‐Derivable Approach

open access: yesContributions to Plasma Physics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We derive a generalized Beth–Uhlenbeck formula for the entropy of a dense fermion system with strong two‐particle correlations, including scattering states and bound states. We work within the Φ‐derivable approach to the thermodynamic potential.

INFRARED QCD [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics E, 2009
We prove that Nambu–Jona-Lasinio model is an exact description of infrared Quantum ChromoDynamics (QCD) deriving it from QCD Lagrangian. The model we obtain is renormalizable and confining but, taking very small momenta fixes completely all the parameters of the Nambu–Jona-Lasinio model through those of QCD.

Effective Potential Formalism at Finite Temperature in Dual QCD and Deconfilnement Phase Transition [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2019
We study the pure-gauge QCD phase transition at filnite temperatures in the dual QCD theory, an effective theory of QCD based on the magnetic symmetry. We formulate the effective thermodynamical potential for filnite temperatures using the path-integral ...

Quantifying Soft‐Surgery in Cochlear Implantation: Multimodal Data From 30 International Specialists

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
Objective data from 30 specialist cochlear implant surgeons showed that surgical handling strongly influences intracochlear mechanical stress during implantation. Surgeons with fewer than 50 lifetime insertions performed significantly worse than more experienced colleagues, while self‐assessment did not reflect objective performance in any group ...

QCD AND JETS

open access: yesPhysics In D ≥ 4 Tasi 2004, 2006
These lectures introduce some of the basic methods of perturbative QCD and their applications to phenomenology at high energy. Emphasis is given to techniques that are used to study QCD and related field theories to all orders in perturbation theory, with introductions to infrared safety, factorization and evolution in high energy hard scattering.

Non-leptonic B-decays in and beyond QCD factorisation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
This thesis examines the non-leptonic B-decays within QCD factorization and beyond, to challenge the assumptions and limitations of the method. We analyse the treatment of the distribution amplitudes of light mesons and present a new model described by ...
