Three-dimensional skyrmions in spin-2 Bose–Einstein condensates
We introduce topologically stable three-dimensional skyrmions in the cyclic and biaxial nematic phases of a spin-2 Bose–Einstein condensate. These skyrmions exhibit exceptionally high mapping degrees resulting from the versatile symmetries of the ...

We discuss cold dense QCD by examining constraints from neutron stars, nuclear experiments, and QCD calculations at low and high baryon density. The two solar mass constraint and suggestive small radii (10~13 km) of neutron stars constrain the strength of hadron-quark matter phase transitions.

The Gamma Factory: A New Experimental Paradigm for the Post‐HL‐LHC Era
ABSTRACT The Gamma Factory (GF) proposal is motivated by the recognition of a largely untapped potential of the CERN accelerator complex to enable a new research program at the intersection of particle, nuclear, atomic, fundamental, and applied physics. These fields could benefit from novel experimental tools made possible by a future GF facility.

Energy momentum tensor correlators in Improved Holographic QCD [PDF]
Krssak M. Energy momentum tensor correlators in Improved Holographic QCD. Bielefeld: Bielefeld University; 2013.In this thesis, we study the physics of the quark gluon plasma (QGP) using holographic methods borrowed from string theory.

Logarithmic corrections in Symanzik’s effective theory of lattice QCD [PDF]
Einer der finalen Schritte in Simulationen von Gitter Quantenchromodynamik (QCD) oder Gittereichtheorie ist die Kontinuumsextrapolation, um die eigentliche Kontinuumsphysik zu extrahieren.

A Hybrid RF Coil for Whole‐Brain Imaging in Non‐Human Primates at 7 T
ABSTRACT Purpose Ultra‐high field MRI (≥ 7 T) offers unprecedented potential for mapping non‐human primate (NHP) brain function. However, complex electromagnetic systems are required to meet the challenges of UHF imaging and the mechanical demands of awake NHP studies.

Infrared behaviour and renormalization scheme invariance of QCD observables [PDF]
In this thesis we study the infrared (IR) behaviour of QCD observables, and solutions to the problem of renormalization scheme dependence. We investigate the IR behaviour of all-orders leading-b renormalon resummations for certain Euclidean observables ...

Autonomous quantum heat engine based on non-Markovian dynamics of an optomechanical Hamiltonian
We propose a recipe for demonstrating an autonomous quantum heat engine where the working fluid consists of a harmonic oscillator, the frequency of which is tuned by a driving mode.

Optimal deep learning activity recognition pipeline using animal bio‐logging data
Abstract Animal activity recognition using supervised machine learning on bio‐logging data has revolutionized behavioural studies on wildlife and livestock over the past decade. These studies' analytic pipelines differ substantially though, being based on various sensors, features, algorithms and hyperparameter values, which has caused suboptimal or ...
