Spectroscopy of Pentaquark Baryons

open access: yes, 2005
A review is given to pentaquark mass predictions in quark models and QCD. It is pointed out that no successful quark model prediction is available for low-lying pentaquark states.

Highly Variable Methane Production and Fluxes in a Hypereutrophic Lake Despite Uniform Bathymetry and Sediment Chemistry

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Biogeosciences, Volume 131, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Hypereutrophic lakes support high sedimentation of labile organic carbon, promoting sediment anoxia and GHG potential production. Lakes with complex morphometry exhibit extensive spatial heterogeneity in sediment methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide CO2 dynamics. We wondered: do lakes with uniform bathymetry show low spatial variation in sediments'

QCD and Jets

open access: yesActa Physica Polonica B, 2013
We address aspects of jet physics at the Large Hadron Collider, focusing on features of recent jet measurements which challenge the theory. We discuss examples illustrating the role of QCD parton showers, nonperturbative corrections, soft multi-gluon emission.

Light-Like Wilson Line in QCD Without Path Ordering

open access: yes, 2016
Unlike the Wilson line in QED the Wilson line in QCD contains path ordering. In this paper we get rid of the path ordering in the light-like Wilson line in QCD by simplifying all the infinite number of non-commuting terms in the SU(3) pure gauge.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Swampland: The Cosmologist's Handbook to the String‐Theoretical Swampland Programme

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 74, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract String theory has strong implications for cosmology, implying the absence of a cosmological constant, ruling out single‐field slow‐roll inflation, and that black holes decay. The origins of these statements are elucidated within the string‐theoretical swampland programme.

INFRARED QCD [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics E, 2009
We prove that Nambu–Jona-Lasinio model is an exact description of infrared Quantum ChromoDynamics (QCD) deriving it from QCD Lagrangian. The model we obtain is renormalizable and confining but, taking very small momenta fixes completely all the parameters of the Nambu–Jona-Lasinio model through those of QCD.

Autonomous quantum heat engine based on non-Markovian dynamics of an optomechanical Hamiltonian

open access: yesScientific Reports
We propose a recipe for demonstrating an autonomous quantum heat engine where the working fluid consists of a harmonic oscillator, the frequency of which is tuned by a driving mode.

WDR12 and HIVEP3 are contributors to cognitive preservation in Amish SuperAgers

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract INTRODUCTION Cognitive SuperAgers (SAs) are individuals aged 80+ with exceptional episodic memory performance for their age, exceeding middle‐aged adult norms. This study integrates family‐ and association‐based methods to identify genetic variants associated with SAs in the Midwestern Amish population.

Methods to achieve near-millisecond energy relaxation and dephasing times for a superconducting transmon qubit

open access: yesNature Communications
Superconducting qubits are one of the most promising physical systems for implementing quantum computers. However, executing quantum algorithms of practical computational advantage requires further improvements in the fidelities of qubit operations ...
