Abstract Short‐lived, unobservable, and not subject to the usual rules of conservation of energy and momentum, virtual particles—an integral part of the conceptual framework of quantum field theory (QFT)—exhibit a number of curious characteristics which, in recent decades, have in part fueled important discussions about their ontological status ...

Locating the QCD Critical Point Using Holographic Black Holes
It has been shown that holographic black holes, constructed to mimic the equation of state of QCD computed on the lattice at finite temperature and zero density, display critical behavior at large baryonic chemical potential.

Two Micron‐Size Dark Dimensions
Abstract Two extra dimensions of micron scale might simultaneously address the gauge and cosmological hierarchy problems. In this paper various observational bounds in scenarios with one and two large extra dimensions are examined, to see if they are compatible with the micron scale.

Highlights from STAR heavy ion program
Recent experimental results obtained in STAR experiment at the Relativistic heavy-ion collider (RHIC) with ion beams will be discussed. Investigations of different nuclear collisions in some recent years focus on two main tasks, namely, detail study of ...

Abstract In this study, the properties, equilibrium, and stability of compact objects within the framework of teleparallel gravity with the generalized MIT bag model are investigated. By incorporating the modified field equations, the influence of the generalized bag constant on the structure and physical characteristics of quark stars and neutron ...

Axion‐Like Interactions and CFT in Topological Matter, Anomaly Sum Rules and the Faraday Effect
This review investigates the connection between chiral anomalies and their manifestation in topological materials, using both perturbative methods based on ordinary quantum field theory and conformal field theory (CFT). It emphasizes the role of CFT in momentum space for parity‐odd correlation functions, and their reconstruction by the inclusion of a ...

Perturbative aspects of the phase diagram of QCD with heavy quarks⋆
We report on recent progress in the description of the phase diagram of QCD with heavy quarks at nonzero temperature and chemical potential in the context of a modified perturbative approach.

The Phase Diagram of QCD Matter [PDF]
Three outstanding phenomena along the critical line in the QCD phase diagram are discussed: (a) the crossover transition at zero chemical potential, (b) the critical fluctuations at the QCD critical point and (c) the development of viscosity in the net-baryon fluid, near the critical temperature. Signatures of these phenomena in high-energy experiments
